This role is part of the . 

The Hub’s ambition is to pursue cutting edge research at the intersection between the fields of applied AI and Collective Intelligence across five application domains (Pandemic Resilience, Smart cities, Financial Stability, Health Ecosystems and Environmental Intelligence) and two cross-cutting themes (Human-Centred Design and Infrastructure and Governance). 

The post-holder will be responsible for developing and delivering a package of work for the . 

This theme aims to understand how humans interact and behave in sociotechnical systems, and to address research questions of when, how, and why intelligent agents and collective intelligence can create tipping points for collective behaviour change. 

The post-holder will interact closely with our partners in national and local government, as well as the commercial sector, in shaping the research programme. 

This means you may also have the opportunity to work with distinguished scholars throughout our academic community at Bath and in the AI4CI consortium. 

There is a strong expectation that you will actively contribute to the strong profile of online behaviour and digital technology research work at Bath and its interdisciplinary ethos through participation in the development and publication of research results in major international conferences and journals. 

You will also be involved with synthesising and disseminating outputs from relevant work as part of a wider programme of knowledge exchange at the AI4CI hub. 

About you 

The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of social psychology, and will be interested in applying social psychological insights to the development and evaluation of systems for collective intelligence, and have a strong commitment to pursuing applied research in a collaborative and inter-disciplinary setting.

The ideal post-holder will:

  • Have a relevant PhD in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Computational Social Science, Data Science, AI, or a related discipline.
  • Have advanced knowledge of social psychology.
  • Have advanced skills in quantitative methodologies. 
  • Have an interest in AI, machine learning, mathematical modelling, and/or digital technology. 
  • Be familiar with one or more programming languages (e.g., R, Python, HP, Java, or HTML).
  • Be proficient in agent-based modelling or be able to demonstrate the capability to learn.

Within MyWorld our work package at Bath, in collaboration with the University of Bristol, is focused on the design and evaluation of audience experiences. 

There exists a range of methods available to measure these effects on audience: interviews, surveys, physiological monitoring, measuring behaviour. 

Our programme of research will map out these pre-existing methods, evaluate and validate them, and then add new cutting-edge methods to this battery. 

We will be working over a range of experiences (TV, VR, AR, Live Theatre, etc.) and with differing types of content (drama, documentary, news). 

The aim is to have real impact in providing the creative industries with an easy to access toolkit to support audience understanding. 

The 69色情片 Associate role at Bath linked to this work package is aimed at a researcher with a background in Psychology or Human Computer Interaction (HCI) with an interest in technology. 

We will work collaboratively with the Psychology team at Bristol and other partners on the project particularly BBC R&D and BT.

  • Design, run, evaluate and write up studies working closely with the project team. 
  • Develop and conduct research as part of the project’s multi-disciplinary team to achieve established objectives.

<![CDATA[69色情片 Associate (ED13589)]]> /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=ED13589 /jobs/rss/click.aspx?ref=ED13589 The Department of Psychology is seeking a skilled and highly motivated post-doctoral research associate to support a new project investigating the development and effectiveness of an adapted cognitive behavioural intervention for social anxiety disorder for autistic people. 

About the role

The project, co-led by Professor Ailsa Russell at University of Bath and Dr Emma Warnock-Parkes at University of Oxford, will co-produce and evaluate the effectiveness of an empirically informed cognitive behavioural intervention for social anxiety disorder with autistic people. 

There will be two main phases to the project: 

1) The adapted intervention and therapist training materials will be developed in Year 1 through co-production meetings, individual/small group consultations with varied engagement methods. This will be followed by refinement of the adapted intervention using a multiple baseline pilot case series.

2) The effectiveness of the intervention will be investigated via a cluster randomised controlled trial in NHS services commencing at the start of Year 2 of the project. 

The post holder will be actively involved in:

  • co-ordination of co-production endeavours with the PIs and PPIE co-applicant leads, 
  • design, preparation and piloting of research materials in collaboration with the clinical trials unit, 
  • liaising with NHS sites,
  • training and supporting research assistants to work to protocol,
  • preparing manuscripts for publication as relevant to research stage e.g. protocols, qualitative and mixed methods findings from case series and co-production.  

The post holder will join the Centre for Applied Autism 69色情片 (CAAR) at the University of Bath. 

They will be encouraged and supported in pursuing career development opportunities. As a member of 69色情片 Staff at the University of Bath, you will be encouraged to take up a minimum of 10 days professional development pro rata per year.

Ideal candidate

We welcome applications from candidates who have:

•    A PhD or professional doctoral qualification in Psychology or related discipline 

•    Experience or interest in the field of autism and/or mental health

•    Experience of mixed methods data collection (interviews, surveys) and analysis techniques (e.g. reflexive thematic analysis, quantitative approaches)

•    Experience of conducting research with autistic people is desirable

•    Excellent team working, communication, and time management skills.

We have one position available offered on a part time (22.5 hours per week), fixed-term basis. 

The post is funded for 24 months. 

Due to the research involving clinical populations, an Enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.

The work-package aims to use iterative, multi-modal, theory-driven testing to identify the ‘best performing’ optimised labels and examine their influence on alcohol purchasing, visual attention and key mechanisms of impact (e.g., changing attitudes, knowledge etc).

About the role

The post holder will be actively involved in i) design, preparation and piloting of research materials, including online experiments, a longitudinal experiment and an eye-tracking study, ii) recruitment and data collection (in-person and online), iii) analysis of the data according to open science practices, and iv) preparing high quality manuscripts for publication.

The post holder is expected to work with the work package lead at the University of Bath (Dr Inge Kersbergen), the work package lead and 69色情片 Associate at the University of Bristol, and the wider project team who are largely based at the University of Stirling. 

This will involve regular online meetings and occasional (approximately twice yearly) in-person meetings at the University of Stirling. 

We expect that the results from this research would be written up by the post holder in an academic journal and the post holder will also be instrumental in developing reports which can be disseminated to policymakers and other key stakeholders.

The post holder will join Bath’s Addiction and Mental Health 69色情片 Group (BATH AIM) and they will be encouraged and supported in pursuing career development opportunities.

  • A PhD in Psychology or related discipline
