Allow plenty of time for your journey
There are many ways to travel to our campus, which is about two miles from Bath's city centre.
Allow lots of time for your journey. The roads in and around Bath are generally quite busy and will be even more congested on Open Days. You could also think about staying in Bath the night before to get to know the city and avoid the busiest travel times.
Travelling to Bath by train
Our nearest train station is .
Train journeys to Bath1 take about:
- 15 minutes from Bristol
- 1 hour 10 minutes from Cardiff
- 1 hour 20 minutes from London
- 2 hours from Birmingham
- 3 hours 45 minutes from Manchester
when you plan your journey and before you travel.
You can also find taxis outside the train station.
Travelling from the train station to campus by bus
From the city centre, you can catch the free Open Day bus to our campus.
The Open Day buses depart from the bus station on Dorchester Street, a two-minute walk from the train station.
Buses leave every 10 minutes, starting at 8am. The last bus back from our campus leaves at 5.30pm.
Buses should take about 20 minutes to and from campus, depending on the traffic.
Storing luggage
If you're travelling with luggage and would like to leave it somewhere for the day, there are luggage storage businesses near Bath Spa train station. Look online for prices and booking information.

University car parking
When , you can also book a free University parking space on the University campus or the Sulis Club car park.
Parking on campus
We have limited parking available on campus.
You must book campus car parking in advance. We'll allocate parking on a first-come, first-served basis when you book onto the event.
Parking at the Sulis Club (Saturday 13 June only)
If you're coming to the Open Day on Saturday 13 June, you can park in the Sulis Club car park.
You must book Sulis Club car parking in advance. We'll allocate parking on a first-come, first-served basis when you book onto the event.
The Sulis Club car park is about one mile from campus and is a good option if you are arriving from the A36.
A free bus service will take you from the Sulis Club car park to the University campus.
Parking at Lansdown Park & Ride
You can park at Lansdown Park & Ride for free and take the free bus service, which runs every 10 minutes throughout the day, from there to the University.
Parking in the city centre
You can park in the city centre for our Open Days, but car parks in Bath are often very busy, especially at weekends.
You can catch our free Open Day bus throughout the day from the bus station.

Cleveland Bridge weight restriction
Cleveland Bridge, off London Road in the centre of Bath, is only accessible to vehicles weighing under 18 tonnes.
